New SBDC program will aid HR professionals

Openings are still available for “Strategic Human Resource Management,” the first course in a new Human Resources Management Certificate Program being offered by UW-Green Bay’s Small Business Development Center.

The seven-session program is designed to help busy professionals address personnel and other human resource responsibilities.

“Strategic Human Resource Management” will be offered on Oct. 21. The remaining programs will be offered monthly through 2009 and spring 2010. Programs will be repeated every year, and participants will have up to three years to complete certificate requirements.

“Human resource management and personnel issues can be complicated, especially if you have learned on the job and haven’t been able to keep up with the latest information,” said SBDC Director Christina Trombley. “This program provides a comprehensive overview of human resources, including recruitment, compensation and legal issues.”

Participants can register for courses without completing certificate requirements. All courses are $189 per session or $1,099 if registering for the entire series. Series price reflects a 15% discount.

For complete details on the certificate series or individual programs, please call the SBDC at (920) 496-2114 or visit www.uwgb.edu/sbdc.
