Nominations sought for fourth annual UW-Green Bay Alumni Earth Caretaker Award
The Environmental Management and Business Institute (EMBI) at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is seeking nominations for its fourth annual Alumni Earth Caretaker Award. The deadline for submissions is Nov. 1.
Since its inception in 2010, the Alumni Earth Caretaker Award has recognized a UW-Green Bay graduate who has gone on to make contributions to the environment and in his or her field of study. Nominees are alumni who are highly regarded for their accomplishments in sustainability, environmental management, environmental policy or other closely related areas. Qualified nominees must hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from UW-Green Bay and have at least 10 years of experience beyond the University. Nominated graduates will be notified and asked to submit a letter of application, resume and any additional information they wish to provide (such as letters of recommendation).
The deadline for submitting a nomination is Nov. 1, and the award presentation is tentatively scheduled for April 18, 2013, during EMBI’s Green Innovations Conference. The 2010 Alumni Earth Caretaker Award recipient was Paul Tower, president and CEO of Applied Filter Technology in Snohomish, Wash. The 2011 honoree was Paul Wozniak, senior consultant with Navigant Consulting of Chicago. In 2012, the award went to Victoria Harris, a longtime water quality and habitat restoration specialist with the UW Sea Grant Institute.
