Alumni and student event scheduled for Friday, February 24

GREEN BAY – More than 800 students, alumni and University friends are expected to attend the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s first annual Rock the Resch pregame tailgate event from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, February 24 at The Bar on Holmgren Way. The event will lead up to the Green Bay men’s basketball game against Oakland at 6 p.m. in the Resch Center.

The Rock the Resch event will include tailgate food and beverages, giveaways and prizes, sign making and swag to cheer on the Phoenix. Attendees will also receive a glow-in-the-dark long sleeve Rock the Resch T-shirt with the Phoenix fight song printed on the arm. The band “Feel Good Kids” will perform, and the UW-Green Bay Pep Band, Green Bay cheer team and Phlash will also be in attendance. At 5:30 p.m., Chancellor Miller and Phlash will lead everyone in a spirit march from The Bar to the game at the Resch Center. At the game, there will be in-game contests between alumni and current students.

“This event will bring together alumni and students alike, celebrating school spirit and nostalgia,” said UW-Green Bay Alumni Director Kari Moody. “We are excited for this event to become a UW-Green Bay homecoming tradition. The number of attendees is growing every day. At least 600 students and 200 alumni and University friends are expected to attend.”
