GREEN BAY –The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay music program presents its next 6:30 Thursdays concert on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 with the program “Miniatures Consortium” featuring the work of UWGB faculty and friends. The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. in Fort Howard Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
This innovative ensemble performs “miniature morsels of music” that are either 100 notes or fewer, or one minute or less in duration. The concert will feature selected pieces from more than 250 submissions worldwide and will be composed in an array of different styles.
UW-Green Bay Music faculty who have either composed, will perform or both include Associate Prof. Adam Gaines, Associate Prof. Michelle McQuade Dewhirst, Associate Prof. Kevin Collins, Assistant Prof. Michael Rector, Associate Prof. Eric Hansen, Adjunct Instructor Michael Dewhirst, Associate Prof. Sarah Meredith Livingston, Associate Prof. Courtney Sherman, Associate Prof. Randy Meder, adjunct instructor Lada Gaines and Artist in Residence Ben Hogan. UWGB friends who are performing with the faculty are Steve Johnson, Jennifer Schmitz Johnson and Ken Barhite.
The 6:30 Thursdays concert series is designed to provide “music from every angle,” which gives an innovative musical experience to connect the campus and community through music in meaningful ways.
The 2015-16 series features a wide array of musical styles and guest artists, including jazz, classical, contemporary, and “third-stream” music blending jazz and classical. All 6:30 Thursdays are free and open to the public. Donations are welcome. Following this performance, remaining 2016 concerts are:

- April 21 — “Alt-Nostalgia” Gypsy Trip
