Rugged schedule continues, but at least now, Phoenix men are home

Ambitious scheduling doesn’t always result in W’s early, but fans of Green Bay men’s basketball are hoping that a tough non-conference road will pay dividends in Horizon League and possible post-season play. The Phoenix is 3-6 but has played well in stretches against the likes of Virginia, Wisconsin, Nevada and Cal State Fullerton, all away from home. Coach Brian Wardle’s team now returns to the friendly confines of the Resch Center for its final four pre-Horizon tests:

• vs. Southern Illinois, 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15
• vs. Marquette, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19
• vs. South Dakota, 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22
• vs. Illinois-Springfield, 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30
