The monthly Philosopher’s Cafe will be meeting this Thursday (Dec. 9) at 7:30 p.m., at St. Brendan’s Inn to discuss how politics and political activity play themselves out (or not) in everyday activities. Is the practice of politics nowadays relegated to voting or violent protests, or are there more mundane expressions? Is the drinking culture a sometimes expression or even practice of political beliefs? Does the pub still function as an arena of popular discourse? Caroline Boswell (a history professor at UW-Green Bay) will steer participants through a discussion on these and related issues. St. Brendan’s is located at 234 S. Washington Street, downtown Green Bay.
