Chancellor Tom Harden on Monday (Nov. 19) praised progress toward the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Northeastern Wisconsin campus, calling it a positive step for greater Green Bay. MCW announced Monday that St. Norbert College would house its local academic headquarters, and that Bellin College would be the site of a clinical simulation center. UW-Green Bay will be an academic partner in the MCW collaboration, working with the college to identify faculty members for the medical education program, among other efforts. Harden and other officials have been involved in encouraging MCW to locate here since the beginning of talks. “Brown County leadership, including officials here at UW-Green Bay, made a unified, concerted effort to promote our community as an MCW satellite location,” Harden said. “I’m proud that we succeeded in making this case, that UW-Green Bay and its leadership were there from the beginning, and there is no doubt the presence of a strong UW campus here helped bring MCW to Northeastern Wisconsin.” Read more.
