Phoenix women face SEC, NCAA power Vanderbilt tonight

After a convincing win to open the season on Saturday, 94-66 at Marquette, the Green Bay women’s basketball team has a quick turnaround by facing national power Vanderbilt at 7 pm CT today (Monday, Nov. 17) at historic Memorial Gymnasium. The Commodores, who have advanced to the NCAA Tournament for 15 consecutive seasons, enter this year with a young roster that features five freshmen and no seniors, yet they were still picked to finish fifth in the rugged SEC. The game will be broadcast by WNFL, 1440 AM.

But first, a little Ice-T

Making a direct flight to Nashville after Saturday’s game at Marquette, the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team went straight to General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. Where they happened to bump into famous rapper/actor Ice-T. There’s a Twitter photo of freshmen Laken James, Allie LeClaire and Jessica Lindstrom posing with the gracious Mr. T. at https://twitter.com/gbphoenixwbb/status/533773301752283137
