Professors discuss ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ on LIVE episode of Canonball

In this LIVE episode of Canonball, Prof. Ryan Martin (Psychology) talks with Associate Prof. Courtney Sherman (Music) and Associate Prof. John Mariano (Theatre) about “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Canonball is a podcast out of Phoenix Studios at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay that covers great works from a variety of disciplines. From movies, to film, to literature, to video games, hosts Dean Chuck Rybak (College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences) and Prof. Ryan Martin discusses all things canonical. Both the Green Bay and Manitowoc campuses are performing the classic this fall/winter.

“The Rocky Horror Show” is a cult classic. “Sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” “A socko wacko weirdo rock concert.”

You can see Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show on the Green Bay Campus, Nov. 21-23, 2019 7:30 p.m. and a special late-night show, Friday, Nov. 22 11 p.m. Tickets on sale now.
