Moulin Rouge The Ballet will be dedicated to late Linda Erwin

When Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet visits the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts for a performance one month from now, Green Bay friends and colleagues of the late Linda Erwin will remember her legacy. The Weidner Center has announced that the troupe’s presentation of “Moulin Rouge the Ballet” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, will be dedicated to her memory. It’s possible (likely) there will be a special observance or informal gathering before or after the performance, details TBA closer to performance night. Erwin passed away earlier this year at the age of 69 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She had retired from UW-Green Bay in September 2001 as managing director of the Weidner Center to cap a 28-year career in which she served as arts and performances coordinator and was instrumental in the early programming success of the Weidner Center. The Weidner’s current executive director, Kate Green, says choice of a dance performance at which to remember her late co-worker is fitting, given Erwin’s love of that art form.
