Weidner Center Executive Director Candidate Presentations

UW-Green Bay has invited three candidates to campus to interview for the Executive Director of the Weidner Center for Performing Arts position. Below are the biographies and the dates for each candidate. All have been asked to prepare a 20-minute presentation on their “Vision for the Weidner Center.” The public is invited to attend.

James Kreutzberg

James Kreutzberg comes to campus with 20 years of theater experience including 15 years in executive positions in Michigan, Wisconsin, Utah and Ohio. He most recently was with the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts in Findlay, Ohio, and on a local note, served as the executive director of the Manitowoc Civic Center from 2007-2010.

Kreutzberg’s experience includes strategic planning, programming, arts education, fund development and start-up operations. He possesses extensive experience building organizational capacity with local cultural groups. His active role in fund development includes participating in an $18.2 million capital campaign to construct the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts.

He earned his bachelor of fine arts degree from Ohio University.

James Kreutzberg’s Resume

Mark Levine

Mark Levine visits UW-Green Bay from San Angelo, Texas, where he currently serves as the executive director of the San Angelo Performing Arts Coalition which contains three performance spaces and five ballet studios.

Levine boasts twelve years experience in ticketing and database management with Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s largest live entertainment company. He also promoted concerts for six years through his own corporation, presenting concerts, festivals and events with budgets up to half-a-million dollars. He possesses deep experience in business and marketing operations and programming.

Levine earned his undergraduate degree from Trinity University.

Mark Levine’s Resume

Kelli Strickland

Kelli Strickland comes to Green Bay from Chicago where she has led two theaters as executive director — the Raven Theatre and the Hypocrites.

She has extensive experience working with local arts groups, including resident companies and oversees programming for the Chicago Humanities Festival and the community engagement programming for the Chicago Park District and the Chicago Public Schools. Prior to her executive role with the Raven Theatre, she served as director of education and outreach for seven years promoting arts education and obtaining funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Strickland earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University, where she has served in an adjunct faculty role for 17 years. She also earned a year-long fellowship in arts leadership at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
