Governor recommends 1+1 pay plan increase for UW System workers

Gov. Scott Walker’s administration is recommending a 1 percent pay raise for state and University of Wisconsin workers in each of the next two years, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. The state’s Joint Committee on Employment Relations will take up that recommendation at a hearing Wednesday in Madison. The UW Board of Regents earlier this month voted to ask that UW System employees’ pay raises be the same as those given to other state employees. The last Systemwide pay increase came in 2008 when faculty and staff got raises of 1 percent. The Board’s formal resolution is archived online, click here.
