We told you here yesterday about a busy Board of Regents meeting set for Thursday and Friday (June 5 and 6) at UW-Milwaukee. In addition to the UW-Green Bay-specific items, a biggie for the board will be consideration of its 2014-15 operating budget. The proposed spending plan would spend down the cash balances that have drawn attention since they were first highlighted last year by about $112 million — approximately 15 percent. Resident undergrad tuition is frozen, but UW System President Ray Cross is recommending an average 3.6 percent segregated fee increase for 4-year institutions, as well as an average 2.7 percent room and board increase for 4-year campuses. We’ll bring you more, including a look at UW-Green Bay’s numbers, later this week. In the meantime, this Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story has additional info.
