Matt Suwalski is named new University Union director

Matt Suwalski has been named director of the University Union and begins Monday, June 17 at UW-Green Bay. Suwalski comes to the Green Bay Campus from UW Oshkosh where he is currently an associate director of the Reeve Memorial Union. In an announcement to his current staff, Vice Chancellor For Student Affairs and Campus Climate, Eric Arneson, said that Suwalski has “extensive experience and leadership both in the union setting and in overall student affairs leadership as evidenced from his role as a past president of the Wisconsin Personnel Association (WCPA).”

Suwalski has a master’s (Student Affairs) from Western Illinois University and an MBA from UW Oshkosh. “He presents a well-rounded experience and expertise in student success and how to operate a business,” Arneson wrote. “Matt shared his deep passion for creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for our students and our focus on inclusion was a factor in his interest in joining us.”
