Richard Presnell full obituary

Mentioned last week, Richard Presnell, a longtime UW-Green Bay faculty member who taught in Education program, died on March 9, 2019. A friend and colleague had this to say… “Dick possessed a bright mind, a kind heart and a lively spirit, and played an important role in environmental education at UW-Green Bay from 1971 until he retired in 1996.” “The world has lost an impassioned environmentalist…” reads his obituary. “An outdoor enthusiast, wood carver and waterfowl hunter, Dick’s appreciation of nature and vision of Earth’s human population in balance with its ecology, was embodied by his teaching at UW-Green Bay.” In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to an environmental non-profit such as Aldo Leopold Foundation or Door County Land Trust in his memory. A celebration of his life will take place at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve located at 2024 Lakeview Drive, Suamico, WI, 54173, on Sunday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. His full obituary is now available.
