Men’s tennis records first-win ever over Big Ten Badgers


The Green Bay Phoenix men’s tennis team accomplished another program first Saturday, defeating Wisconsin 4-1 on the road. It’s the first time Green Bay (10-4) has beaten the Badgers in seven tries. The Phoenix got wins from Florian Kraenzler (Puchheim, Germany) at No. 4 singles, Joshua Schramm (Brunsbuttel, Germany) at No. 5, Joey Letto (Downers Grove, Ill.) at No. 6, and Leopold Gomez Islinger (Weiden, Germany) at No. 2. Coach Mark Thomas’s team also beat Marquette for the first time in program history earlier this season. Up next are spring break matches in California at Fresno State and UC-Irvine. For more.
