The Green Bay men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams opened the four-day 2014 Horizon League Championship meet on Wednesday, with both squads turning in a number of impressive performances at the Busbey Natatorium on the Cleveland State campus. The men’s 200 medley relay team (Evan Hill, Ryan Korslin, Cole Hackney and Ben Loeffelholz) provided the highlight, claiming a Horizon League title in school-record fashion. The impressive victory marked the first relay win for the Phoenix men at a conference meet since 1996. Sophomore diver Tanner Nordlund recorded his best score of the year on the 3-meter board. The Phoenix women concluded day one in fourth place in the eight-team field, while the men are in fifth out of seven teams in the early going. Read more
