Nicolet Bank provides leadership gift to support UW-Green Bay outdoor soccer facility

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Nicolet National Bank has made a leadership gift of $125,000 to support a new soccer facility which will help elevate both Division I men’s and women’s soccer programs and enhance student intramural opportunities. Formal recognition of the gift will take place tonight when the men’s basketball team takes on Youngstown State at 7pm at the Resch Center.

The new soccer facility is part of a $4.9 million project that will include a state of the art soccer stadium, featuring a turf field, lights, permanent bleachers, and a restroom and concession building along with a significant renovation to the softball field to include a permanent press box, restrooms, cosmetic upgrades and walkway for easier fan accessibility. The project will also feature new technology infrastructure in order to stream soccer and softball games on ESPN3, which will provide national coverage for the university.

“We are very happy to deepen our relationship with UWGB Athletics with this gift to the new soccer facilities,” said Eric Witczak, Executive Vice President, Nicolet National Bank. “We look forward to seeing the completed stadium and watching the continued success of the University.”

“Nicolet National Bank has been a loyal supporter of Green Bay Athletics and once again, has demonstrated their commitment to elevating our Division I athletics program through this very generous gift. They are outstanding partners who know the value of a competitive athletic program and what that does for the university and the community. We are so honored to have the Nicolet National Bank name in our new soccer facility,” said Director of Athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie.

In just 16 years, Nicolet National Bank has gone from a blank piece of paper to a $2 billion community bank. Nicolet offers commercial lending, mortgage, retail banking and wealth management services throughout northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
