Habitat trip features soggy start, special shout-out

More than three dozen UW-Green Bay students are having a soggy but stupendous time in Slidell, La., part of the campus Habitat for Humanity chapter’s annual build. The group arrived Sunday (Jan. 13) after a 19-hour bus ride, and got to work Tuesday (Jan. 15) after a day of recreation. The crew’s Wednesday was cut short by a cold, soaking rain, but they were back at it yesterday, reports Dean of Enrollment Services and Habitat adviser Mike Stearney, via blog. Chancellor Tom Harden and his wife, Cathy, got a special shout-out from the group earlier this week, when Stearney posted a Facebook picture of a handmade build site thank-you sign. The pictured students, on behalf of the group, were thanking the Hardens for sponsoring a meal that helped them raise funds for the group’s trip.
