The future of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts took center stage in today’s (Friday, Dec. 2) Green Bay Press-Gazette, which featured a front-page story on planning meetings that continue today. The story talks about the process of reinvigorating UW-Green Bay’s signature performing arts facility, including plans to make the Weidner more self-sustaining while better connecting it with campus and community. “We have this great venue — I mean one of the best — that is not as well used as it should be,” Chancellor Thomas K. Harden told the paper. “We have a commitment to this community to use the Weidner Center more fully and more appropriately …” WLUK, Fox 11, also covered the story, interviewing Harden and Kate Green, director of programming for the Weidner, in the facility’s Cofrin Family (main) Hall.
