Prof. Kaufman quoted in Stevens Point Journal

UW-Green Bay Prof. Tim Kaufman (Education) was featured in a story last week (Nov. 22) in the Stevens Point Journal. “Small-town Wisconsin teachers forge community connections, and districts need more.” The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development projects the state will need almost 2,400 new teachers by 2024. Kaufman said the majority of the education program’s graduates stay in Wisconsin and the areas around the university. Part of that retention rate is tied to the university’s partnerships with surrounding school districts. “They’re actually out there working in schools and that, I think, builds relationships that are critical to both getting hired and job satisfaction,” he said in the story.
