Shrew review and surreptitious Shakespeare (shhhh …)

A Monday (Oct. 22) production of Shakespeare’s classic “The Taming of the Shrew” at the Weidner Center earned praise from Green Bay Press-Gazette critic Warren Gerds, who reviewed the Aquila Theatre Company show that had “a contemporary feel and cranked up the action.” Just six actors played all the parts in the play, showcasing their training and skill on a minimally dressed stage and presenting a performance that was “a delight to watch,” Gerds said. The show was part of the Underground Shakespeare Festival we told you about … er, hinted at … recently in this newsletter (shhh … ). The links take you to Gerds’ review and our previous post about the surreptitious Shakespeare shows (if anyone asks, you didn’t hear it here …).
