UW-Green Bay partners downtown with InitiativeOne

Fox 11 News said UW-Green Bay’s deal with InitiativeOne will offer opportunities for students and faculty to connect with the business community. Fred Johnson, InitiativeOne founder and CEO, explained, “For instance, if we go into a large corporate setting that needs some specific expertise, we are going to tap into that faculty and we’re going to be able to provide real life solutions from them that otherwise we would not have had.” He also talked about internship opportunities. The Fox 11 story noted that the InitiativeOne deal allows UW-Green Bay to reestablish a physical presence in downtown Green Bay.

WFRV-TV 5 talked to marketing student Jackson Krauter for a student perspective on the UWGB-InitiativeOne partnership. “I think it’s a great thing,” offered Krauter. “It gives us the opportunity to get out there in the business world and possible start a career here in Green Bay right out of college.” InitiativeOne has already hired two paid interns from UW-Green Bay and firm hopes to add at least 10 more over the next year.

Green Bay Press-Gazette coverage by lead business reporter Jeff Bollier emphasized the potential for UWGB to be part of further, ongoing downtown revitalization efforts. Under the new agreement, UW-Green Bay will have access to class and office space downtown.
