Second day story: UW-Green Bay’s Meyer, Koepke talk budget cuts

Proposed cuts to and flexibility for the UW System have remained in the spotlight this week as students, faculty, staff and administrators react to Gov. Walker’s budget proposal. Fox 11’s Kelly Schlicht was on campus Wednesday (Jan. 28) afternoon, speaking with SGA President Vanya Koepke, Associate Prof. Steve Meyer and others about the possible implications of the cuts. “The $300 million figure that’s been thrown around for the next biennium is pretty devastating, I believe,” Meyer said. Added Koepke: “The tuition freeze has been helpful. But when we dig deeper to what the necessities of our education system are, it become harder for all students.” Full story.
