Faculty note: Saxton-Ruiz talks on Benavides work

On Wednesday of this week, Prof. Gabriel Saxton-Ruiz, Humanistic Studies and Spanish, gave an invited lecture at UW-Milwaukee, titled “Political and Aesthetic Engagement in the Works of Jorge Eduardo Benavides.” The UW-Green Bay faculty member gave a similar presentation in Lima, Peru in October at the Coloquio Internacional-Fines del mundo: Narrativas fantásticas en Hispanoamérica. The title of his paper was “El sentimiento fantástico en La noche de Morgana de Jorge Eduardo Benavides” (“The sensibility of the Fantastic in Jorge Eduardo Benavides’ La noche de Morgana”).
