Black Friday? Not necessarily, as an increasing number of stores plan to open Thanksgiving Day or earlier this year for their big holiday sales. WBAY, Channel 2 talked to recently retired Communication Prof. Tim Meyer about the phenomenon for a story that ran Friday (Nov. 9). The decision to open could be a downer for employees, Meyer said. “There are a number of people who don’t appreciate the fact that they don’t have to work on Thanksgiving in previous years and have been called on to work now,” he said.
