When the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning convened its annual conference in Raleigh, N.C., last week, UW-Green Bay faculty members were prominent. Assistant Prof. Sarah Himmelheber of Social Work presented a poster titled “The Power of Presence in the 21st Century Classroom: Integrating Mindfulness-Based Pedagogy to Cultivate Attention, Curiosity, Compassion, and Intention Among Students and Educators,” in conjunction with Jacquelyn Lee of UNC-Wilmington. Associate Profs. David Voelker (Humanistic Studies and History) and Ryan Martin (Human Development and Psychology) participated in a panel presentation with La Vonne Cornell-Swanson, director of the UW System’s Office of Professional and Instructional Development, titled “The Wisconsin Teaching Fellows & Scholars Program: Cultivating Community and Leadership through SoTL.”
