Poli Sci’s Helpap comments on ‘heavy hitters’ in governor race

NBC 26 featured UW-Green Bay Political Science faculty member David Helpap this week on the topic of political heavy hitters visiting the state to support candidates in the governor’s race. Michelle Obama campaigned for Mary Burke in Milwaukee, focusing  on education and job creation in the state. Chris Christie campaigned for Scott Walker in Hudson, stressing themes of job training, lower taxes and opposition to federal healthcare mandate. “If you can get any specific segment to turn out more than they usually would, that can have a real impact on a race this close,” said Helpap.
