‘Spider Man’ Draney documents Atlantic Coast species here

Prof. Michael Draney of Natural and Applied Sciences is the author of a scientific article newly published in the journal Great Lakes Entomologist. The article is titled “Disjunct Lake Michigan populations of two Atlantic Coast spiders, Disembolus bairdi and Grammonota pallipes (Araneae: Linyphiidae).” Draney and fellow researcher J.F. Steffen of the Chicago Botanic Garden found two species of small spiders that seem to have “disjunct” or distinct distributions — known only from the Atlantic coastal plain and from near the shores of the Great Lakes.
