Admission’s Gallagher shares advice on prepping for college

Michael Gallagher, assistant director of UW-Green Bay Admissions, was quoted extensively in a published planning guide “College 101.” The Gannett Wisconsin guide, which features area colleges and universities, is written for high school students who are deciding about their college of choice and what it takes to get there. Gallagher’s advice? Academics first. Although extracurriculars can add emphasis, “…it’s the hard numbers that are always looked at first — GPA, standardized test scores and completion of the right number of core academic courses,” he said.
