Meet your new ADEC president: Illene Cupit

UW-Green Bay Human Development Prof. Illene N. Cupit was inducted as president of the national Association of Death Education and Counseling during the ADEC annual conference in late March in Atlanta. Cupit developed UW-Green Bay’s first Dying, Death and Loss course about two decades and has since focused her research on college student bereavement, adolescent grief, death education and death in child care centers. She also founded an annual, week-long summer camp for children dealing with grief issues. At the ADEC conference, Cupit spoke to the assembled guests at her president’s luncheon about her goals for the association for the coming year and how she envisions her role. We’ll have more on Cupit’s honor and a link to a full news release in a future issue.
