In the news: Nesslein offers take for story on Russian sanctions 

Recently announced economic sanctions against Russia could have a ripple effect for Wisconsin’s economy, and Associate Prof. Tom Nesslein put the issue in context for a story that aired Thursday (March 20) on WBAY, Channel 2. “The world’s becoming more interdependent all of the time,” Nesslein, Urban and Regional Studies, told reporter Michelle Clemens. “Wisconsin companies, we have both a large manufacturing sector — relative to many other states — and a good agricultural sector, also.” Still, Nesslein added, the sanctions’ effects are unlikely to be severe.
