Strontium study from Luczaj, Zorn drawing local attention

We told you here last week about a UW-Green Bay study that’s gotten some attention as of late, as University scientists are exploring significant levels of strontium found in well water samples collected nearby. Spearheaded by NAS Associate Prof. John Luczaj, working in conjunction with Associate Prof. Michael Zorn and grad student Joseph Baeten, the study found that nearly two-thirds of well samples taken in Brown and Outagamie counties had strontium levels above the Environmental Protection Agency’s lifetime health advisory limit of 4 mg/L, and six water samples were above 25 mg/L, exceeding short-term consumption guidelines.
