Mark your calendars: Next After Thoughts, featuring Stangel, is Nov. 13

Collegiate sports and the super-successful UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team will be the focus of the next After Thoughts program, coming up Tuesday, Nov. 13. Former Associate Athletics Director and current UW-Green Bay Director of Development Jeanne Stangel will present “The Green Bay Way: The Impact of National Recognition in Collegiate Sports at UW-Green Bay,” beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the Grand Foyer of the Weidner Center. The After Thoughts gathering begins at 5 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and the chance to network and socialize. Stangel’s presentation will provide a broad-brush overview of intercollegiate athletics, along with a discussion of the national impact asuccessful sports team can have on a university’s athletic program, campus and larger community. She’ll apply that context to an assessment of Phoenix women’s basketball, a perennially successful program that was ranked in the Top 10 nationally last season.
