It has been a UW-Green Bay tradition since 2002! The annual student-organized charity event known as the Steps To Make A Difference Walk returns Saturday, Oct. 19, with registration at 9:30 a.m. at the University Union and a 10 a.m. start to the walk along the Arboretum trails. The student Public and Environmental Affairs Council is a primary organizer, and the Philanthropy Club has selected four local non-profits to benefit from the fundraiser. They are Court-Appointed Special Advocates of Brown County (CASA), Harmony Café of Green Bay, the Fox/Wolf Watershed Alliance, and Literacy Green Bay. “Whether you want to improve the lives of children or adults, people or the environment,” says student organizer Amy Porter, “the money you raise in the Steps Walk has a real and immediate impact on local charities that address local needs.”

Pre-registration is encouraged and can be taken care of at the Student Life Office, UU 150. Student Teresa Wroblewski is a contact for the walk. For more information, visit their website.
