Trumpet lecture-recital will open 360° Thursdays series

The inaugural 360° Thursdays concert event of the 2014-15 academic year will feature a trumpet performance from John Daniel, associate professor of music at Lawrence University in Appleton. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 in Fort Howard Hall at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. Accompanied by pianist Nick Towns, Daniel promises a lecture-recital of fresh perspectives, stimulating insights and virtuosic repertory. He will discuss and perform trumpet works he approaches in a manner inspired by the woodwind family of instruments, and also will present an homage to several great trumpet players. Part of UW-Green Bay’s 360° of Learning approach, 360° Thursdays concerts are free to attend, but a $5 donation is appreciated. Read news release.
