UW-Green Bay celebrates National Poetry Month

A reading by Maurice Kilwein Guevara at 7 p.m. Thursday (April 2) in Phoenix Room B of the University Union will help mark the start of National Poetry Month. Joanne Staudacher, an adjunct instructor of Humanistic Studies, says the event is free and open to the public. Guevara, a native of Colombia who grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa., is a professor of English at UW-Milwaukee, where he teaches in the master’s and Ph.D. programs in creative writing as well as in the Latino Studies program. He is the author of four poetry collections and has been widely published in journals, magazines and anthologies.
