UW-Green Bay Theatre and Dance is gearing up for a big few days, as Censored on Final Approach tonight continues its seven-performance run while preparing to welcome one of the inspiring women who lived the history on which the play is based. As we told you here before, 94-year-old Betty Strohfus, one of the original World War II Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) will be on hand Thursday and Friday to take in the show, greet cast and crew and participate in several other activities related to the play. Strohfus’ schedule includes a panel discussion appearance (4:30 p.m. Thursday, Christie Theatre), a visit to the Neville Public Museum and EAA AirVenture Museum, as well as meeting with cast and crew before taking in Friday’s production. Gerds review: ‘Censored’ a 4.5-star, ‘full-bodied’ production
In case you missed it late last week, Local 5 Critic-at-Large Warren Gerds gave a strong, 4.5-out-of-5 stars review to Censored on Final Approach, noting its historical importance, strong performances and more — including how it embodies the University’s 360° of Learning approach. He also takes note of the numerous events (see above) surrounding the performance, both on campus and in the community. Read the review.
