New info: Get jazzed for Jazz Fest, this Saturday on campus

We’ve got some additional information about UW-Green Bay Music’s Jazz Fest XLIV, coming up Saturday (Feb. 1) on campus. As we told you here Friday, this daylong educational and music event will culminate with a concert featuring renowned pianist Kenny Werner and his Kenny Werner Trio. It’s well worth taking in the show, which begins at 4 p.m. in the Cofrin Family (main) Hall at the Weidner Center. “I’ve always loved this music,” Associate Prof. John Salerno tells us. “And even if you don’t know much about it, I think you ought to come out and see what this is about, at least this festival. It’s a good way to start because of the artists that we have.” Our full news release has more on the event, including a list of participating schools and additional info about Werner.
