The screening starts at 7 p.m. Monday (Nov. 19) in the Christie Theatre, located on the lower level of the University Union for a free public showing of “Last Call at the Oasis.” The film is said to present a powerful argument for why a global water crisis will be the central issue of the 21st century, and why some systems and communities are already struggling with ill effects. The screening will be followed by local commentary from guest speakers Prof. Laurel Phoenix of UW-Green Bay’s Public and Environmental Affairs faculty and Brown County Land and Water Conservation official Bill Hafs. (All those in attendance will receive a free UWGB ECO-U bag, while supplies last.)
