Did we mention there’s cake and a fish tank? Public Safety open house

See the new fish tank, built into the hallway wall, during the Public Safety open house from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday (Sept. 21) in the Instructional Services Building. You might also tour the renovated, more inviting and practical digs and gain a better understanding from Chief of Police Tom Kujawa and company why they’re trying to position Public Safety headquarters as a physical location known to all students, faculty, staff and even prospective students and their families.  Academic Technology Service (ATS) is also having an open house at the same time.
 
About that aquarium…
The in-wall aquarium in IS is the result of a collaboration with former UW-Green Bay student Terry Fairfield, who with Brian Hendricks in the late 1980s, formed the UWGB Aquarium Club. They installed a tank at the entrance to the library, met regularly on campus, and the club quickly grew in size. The club was renamed the Green Bay Aquarium Society, and the meeting location was changed to the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. The non-profit educational organization is notable in its effort to propagate captive tropical fish rather than encourage overfishing of natural populations. All meetings are open to the public.
