‘After Thoughts’ series returns Sept. 20 with Nielsen talk

After a successful inaugural year, UW-Green Bay is poised to kick off an engaging new season of its After Thoughts series of programs for women. Designed to connect women in the community with UW-Green Bay, After Thoughts gatherings showcase faculty and staff and convene women after their workdays for learning, enrichment and fun. The sessions provide “After Thoughts” for participants to take with them when they leave.

The first program of the 2011-12 academic year will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Weidner Center. Prof. Kim Nielsen of Democracy and Justice Studies will present “Jane Addams and the Challenge of a Living Democracy.”

Additional After Thoughts sessions feature, on Nov. 1, Susan Frost, associate lecturer in Humanistic Studies and president of Frost Marketing Communications, Inc.; on March 13, Laura Hollingsworth, ’89, UW-Green Bay alumna and president and publisher of The Des Moines Register; and on April 10, Laura Riddle, professor of Theatre and managing director of Theatre Productions.
