Reminder: Sessions on employment issues are next week

The UW-Green Bay Office of Human Resources will be holding an informational session specific to supervisors at 10 a.m. next Tuesday (Jan. 10) to discuss changes governing conditions of employment for state employees. In addition, two sessions will be open to all employees on Wednesday (Jan. 11), with identical hour-long presentations beginning at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.  All of the sessions will take place in the 1965 Room of the University Union.

This month’s informational sessions come in the wake of Jan. 1 statewide implementation of Wisconsin Act 32 resulted in many changes to state employment including the abolishment of various collective bargaining agreements. The 2011-13 Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and UW-Green Bay policies will now govern all classified employment.  Many provisions previously held by the various collective bargaining agreements have been absorbed into the new compensation plan. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Classified Employee Handbook has been updated to reflect these changes. HR is reminding employees to review the updated handbook and send any questions they may have to hr@uwgb.edu. All questions received will be compiled into a FAQ document that will be available to employees.
