Comedian Charlie Berens took advantage of Wisconsinites’ ability to laugh at themselves at his sold-out Weidner Center show, March 7, 217. His viral comedy series, “The Manitowoc Minute” has landed in hundreds of thousands of households. It seems that making fun of our, well, Canadian dialect, is fair fodder, in regions well beyond the Midwest. Berens makes the most of it. From celebrating Packers to disparaging the Chicago Bears, to having fun with those phrases uniquely Wisconsin, Berens hits the mark. The Green Bay Press-Gazette’s Kendra Meinert summarized many of the highlights. Congratulations to Good Times Programming on bringing in both Berens, and UW-Green Bay alumnus John Egan ’07 (Communication Processes), as the opening act.
